Digital rights is a critical issue for consumers and their use of CDs, DVDs, still photographs, and written material and for content providers of all types and sizes, the big Hollywood studios, composers, artists, etc. The issue is contentious and is profoundly affecting American business in a variety of areas. An arrangement has to be made and made soon, which is fair to all -- or illegal activities will continue, and there will continue to be a huge gulf between those who create content, and those who use it. A respected Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Joe Kraus, one of the founders of Excite, held an invite-only conference to try to help all sides understand the issues and to bring people who were, on the surface, very far apart. Attending and presenting were business leaders who had been sued and even arrested, congressmen and senators, heads of the music and film industry, and top lawyers and analysts. They represented some of the strongest advocates for a variety of points of view. As you can imagine, the dialogues were passionate and provocative. This 3 hour video or DVD program captured it all and is a must-see for those concerned about the subject and/or in the points of view of any of the presenters.
